Owen Seto Biblical Counsellor and Pastoral Supervisor

My Story

Hi I’m Owen. I believe each person is made in the image of God. Each of us is uniquely gifted and is of great significance and value.

But within the complexity of a broken world and broken relationships, we can lose sight of our true identity and purpose. That is why we need the help and hope found in the Bible. Living according to God’s wisdom brings real joy, real comfort, and the ability to love others well.

I got to see this as I served for 13 years as a pastor in Sydney’s Inner West. In my role as a pastor, I had the privilege of providing pastoral care to individuals and couples through a variety of life’s challenges. My great joy was seeing people move from being “stuck”, to rediscovering God’s purpose for their lives.

To be further equipped, I completed a Master of Arts in Counselling through Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia) and at the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF). I studied under professors like David Powlison and Ed Welch. My training enabled me to see people, problems, and the change process with a new depth. I now serve the wider church and community as a biblical counsellor and pastoral supervisor.

I am convinced that the Bible personally applied, brings hope, healing and help to our deepest struggles in life. This hope and renewal grows in the context of a living relationship with Jesus. I look forward to walking with you through the challenges you are facing.

I’m married to Cassandra and am the proud father of two boys. In my spare time, I love reading historical biographies, supporting the Wallabies, and bodysurfing in summer.
